1.4.9 LPUF-21 and FPIC

This section describes the structure and specifications of the Flexible Card Line Processing
Unit (LPUF-21, 2 sub-slots) and FPIC.

1.4.9.1 LPUF-21

The LPUF-21 is hot-swappable and has two 1/2-width slots, each of which holds one FPIC. It
supports the following functions: 1. forwarding packets at the line speed of 20 Gbit/s; 2.
Networking flexibility and provisioning of low-cost and customized solutions; 3. Mixed
application of different FPICs.

NOTICE

The LPUF-21 backplane does not support the hot swapping of FPICs.
