3.1.3 Instruments Required for the Installation
This section describes the instruments and meters for installing the USG.
Table 3-2 lists the required instruments and meters for USG installation.

l Marker: used to indicate specific lengths with drawn lines.
Fastening tools l Flat-head screwdriver: used to fasten small screws and bolts.

Drilling tools l Hammer drill: used to drill mounting holes during wall-
mounting.
l Vacuum cleaner: used to remove dust and debris produced
while drilling holes.
l Hammer: used to drive the hollow wall anchors into mounting
holes.
Pliers l Needle-nose pliers: used to hold small fittings and twist fine
wires in a narrow workplace.
l Diagonal cutting pliers: used to cut insulated sleeves and tie
wraps.
Auxiliary tools l Knife: used to peel the insulated sleeve from the cable.
