Initiating a Conference
There are multiple methods for initiating a conference from the touch panel.
If your telepresence system works with a 9 series Multipoint Control Units (MCU) and
the MCU's embedded GK is enabled: Register the codec with the GK on the codec web
interface. On the touch panel, tap
. On the displayed keypad screen, dial the
unified access number. Then follow IVR instructions to join or create a conference.
If your telepresence system supports PassCode: Access the touch panel home screen. In
Access Code
and
Meeting Passcode
, enter the access number and password, which is
allocated by the service management center when you schedule a conference. Then tap
to join a conference.
If the access number allocated by the service management center is the same as the value of
Default
access code
under
>
Settings
>
Advanced Settings
>
Conference Settings
, you can join the
conference by filling in
Meeting Passcode
only and tapping
.
4.1 Initiating a Conference from the Contacts Screen
The contacts list stores site information. This saves time as you do not need to enter site
information every time you initiate a conference and prevents entry of incorrect IP addresses.
You can also search the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) server or eSpace
server for an LDAP site, eSpace site, or virtual conference room. This helps you quickly
select a site to initiate a conference.
Prerequisites
The touch panel has connected to the telepresence host.
The related site information has been saved to the contacts list of the telepresence host.
