4.18.6 Example for Configuring Association Between an Ethernet
CFM Module and an Interface
Networking Requirements
, CFM is used on a direct link and a multi-hop link. Ethernet CFM is
configured between Switch A and SwitchB, and Ethernet CFM is associated with Eth 0/0/1 of
Switch A. When the CFM OAM module on Switch A detects the connectivity fault on the link
between Switch A and Switch B, it shuts down Eth 0/0/1. In this case, the peer device of
SwitchA detects the fault.

Configuration Roadmap
The configuration roadmap is as follows:

Configure Ethernet CFM on Switch A and Switch B.
2.
Associate an Ethernet CFM module with Eth 0/0/1 on SwitchA.
