5.6.3 Removing a Hard Disk

This topic describes how to remove a hard disk when you replace the original one

or use a new model.

Scenarios

Remove a hard disk if:

●

The hard disk has failed.

●

The hard disk needs to be replaced with a new model.

●

The hard disk has no free space and needs to be replaced.

The server does not need to be powered off when the hard disk is removed.

Prerequisites

Conditions

Data in the disk is backed up and the RAID configuration is deleted if there are

services running on the RH8100 V3.

Data

●

You have obtained the cabinet number and chassis number of the RH8100 V3.
