To solve this problem, you can configure static routes to inherit costs of iterated routes. Because
static routes are iterated to direct routes and costs of direct routes are determined by PW status,
this configuration implements the association between static routes and PW status. On the
network shown in
, you can configure statics routes on AGG1 to inherit costs of
iterated routes. When the link that bears PW1 recovers:
l
If PW1 is still standby, the direct route between AGG1 and CSG has a high cost. Because
the static routes on AGG1 inherit the direct route cost, the static routes also have high costs.
In this case, even if AGG1 advertises static routes to RSGs, RSGs do not preferentially
select these routes and downstream traffic still travels along Link B.
l
If PW1 becomes active, the direct route between AGG1 and the CSG has the default cost
0. Because the static routes on AGG1 inherit the direct route cost, the static routes also have
the cost value 0. In this case, after AGG1 advertises static routes to RSGs, RSGs select
these routes and downstream traffic is switched over to Link A. At this time, AGG1 has
learned the MAC addresses of the base stations, and downstream traffic loss will be reduced.
