Items in
and
are described as follows:
l
The VIS6000
–
processes the service data between ASs and storage arrays.
–
Seamlessly joins the user's existing network, integrates heterogeneous storage devices,
and provides redundant data protection.
–
Provides virtualized storage array for ASs and establishes multi-path connections with
heterogeneous ASs through the multi-path software.
–
Provides the remote disaster recovery function and supports I/O level remote data
replication and mirroring.
l
AS
The OS of an AS (such as a video monitoring AS, a stream media AS, and data backup
AS) can be Linux, Windows, AIX, Solaris, or HP-UX. ASs can obtain storage resources
from the storage arrays through the VIS6000.
l
Storage array
A set of disks from one or more commonly accessible disk subsystem, combined and
controlled by the control software. The control software provides the disks' storage capacity
for hosts as one or more virtual disks.
l
Maintenance terminal
The maintenance terminal is used for management and maintenance of the VIS6000 as well
as logging in to the management software of the VIS6000.
l
FC switch
FC switches are used for connecting ASs and storage arrays to the VIS6000.
l
Ethernet switch
Ethernet switches are used for connecting ASs and storage arrays to the VIS6000.
