In the storage array of the production center, 33 disks (the capacity of each is 2 TB) are
mapped to the VIS6000. After the VIS6000 takes over these disks, a 66 TB volume named
datavol is created on the VIS6000 and mapped to the host. datavol serves as the data volume.

In the storage array of the production center, 2 disks (the capacity of each is 20 GB) are
mapped to the VIS6000. After the VIS6000 takes over these disks, a 20 GB log volume
named srlvol are created, and another disk serves as mirrored disk for the srlvol.

In the storage array of the production center, 2 disks (the capacity of each is 1 GB) are
mapped to the VIS6000. After the VIS6000 takes over these disks, a 1 GB volume named
dcmvol1 and a 1 GB volume named dcmvol2 is created on the VIS6000. dcmvol1 and
dcmvol2 serves as the DCM volume.

A replicate volume group is created with the data volume and log volume in the production
center and the disaster recovery center.
8.4.4 Service Planning
This section introduces the service planning for data disaster recovery.
The service planning includes the host group planning, the host planning, and the mapping
planning.
Host Group Planning
The OS type of the default host group in the storage system is Windows 2003. Since the ASs in
this application are installed with Linux, you need to create a new host group.
Create a host group whose OS type is Linux. Name the host group LINUXSERVICE.
Host Planning
Create a host named linux1 in the host group LINUXSERVICE.
Mapping Planning
Map the volume datavol in the production center to the host linux1.
8.4.5 Data Security Planning
This section introduces the data security planning.
Data security planning in this application scenario means creating a mirror for the log volume.
