
106 Getting Connected
Your network administrator may instruct you to download and install the
certificates from a web site or in some other way. Before you download and/
or install the certificates to your phone, you must set up the phone’s secure
credential storage.
To access the phone’s credential storage, press HOME > MENU, tap
Settings > Security, and then tap Set password. After setting the password,
select the Use secure credentials check box. All security certificates that
you download and install are saved in the phone’s credential storage.
To add a VPN
1.
Press HOME > MENU, and then tap Settings > Wireless controls >
VPN settings.
2.
Tap Add VPN, and then tap the type of VPN you want to add.
3.
Tap the VPN settings and set them up according to the security details you
have obtained from your networ k administrator.
4.
When finished, press MENU, and then tap Save.
The VPN is added to the VPNs section of the the VPN settings screen.
To connect to a VPN
1.
Press HOME > MENU, and then tap Settings > Wireless controls >
VPN settings.
2.
In the VPNs section, tap the VPN you want to connect to.
3.
When prompted, enter your log in credentials, and then tap Connect.
When connected, the VPN connected icon (
) appears in the notification
area of the title bar.
4.
Open Browser to access resources such as intranet sites on your corporate
network. See “Using Browser” for more information.
To disconnect from a VPN
Open the Notifications panel, and then tap the VPN connection to disconnect from
it. When disconnected, the VPN disconnected icon (
) appears in the notification
area of the title bar.
