It is important that the locator is held in line with
the sonde and the pipe, this is the opposite to
normal use when detecting re-radiated signals.
The signal transmitted may rise slightly then fall to a
null before and after the maximum signal is
detected.
Once located, mark the area with chalk or a
suitable paint.
Never push the equipment beyond its design
limits.
If it will not do what you want, assume you have
the wrong type of equipment for the job. Contact your
local HSS Hire Shop for advice.
Keep the equipment clean
– you will find this less of a
chore if you clean it regularly, rather than wait until the
end of the hire period.
Handle the equipment with care
, avoid dropping or
knocking it.
When not in use
, store the equipment somewhere
clean, dry and safe
from thieves.
FINISHING OFF
EQUIPMENT CARE
Disconnect the sonde from any drain rod then
remove the battery from the sonde.
Replace the end cap and give the unit a final
clean, ready for return
to your local HSS Hire Shop.
