Adjusting the position of the mechanical limit switches
Mechanical safety limit switches (NC) must be used if there is a risk
that persons may be endangered unless the electric drive shuts down
immediately.
The drive may be started up only once all limit switches are correctly
adjusted and are connected!
Mechanical safety limit switches may be combined with inductive limit
switches.
External dampers must be fitted as protection against mechanical
damage.
The necessary braking distance (Δ B) depends on the speed and
deceleration. This braking distance must be less than the distance
between the trip point of the limit switch and the actual mechanical limit
of travel (Figure 5).
