Installing the server in the wall mount when the power source location is higher than the wall
mount.
Installing the server on the storage expansion unit
This storage expansion unit supports four LFF low-profile SATA drives.
Process overview for installing the storage expansion unit together with a new server:
1.
HPE configures the availability and allocation of the drives installed in the storage expansion unit.
2.
Before the initial server power-on, the authorized MSP/reseller installs the new server on the storage
expansion unit (" Install the server on the storage expansion unit " on page 35 ).
3.
The authorized MSP/reseller powers on the server for the first time.
The drives in the storage expansion unit are set up at the same time as the server as part of the
normal HPE ProLiant Easy Connect Server installation and commissioning processes.
Process overview for installing the storage expansion unit after the date when the initial server
deployment is completed:
To minimize disruption to the IT operation of the user:
•
Perform steps 1 and 5 during the normal work/business hours for the user.
•
Perform steps 2–4 outside of the normal work/business hours for the user.

The authorized MSP/reseller opens a support ticket notifying HPE of the required configuration and
temporary shutdown of the server.
2.
The authorized MSP/reseller prepares the server for installation (" Prepare the server for hardware
installation or removal " on page 16 ).
3.
If the server is installed in a cradle or wall mount, remove the server:
a.
Remove the server from the cradle (on page 16 ).
b.
Remove the server from the wall mount (on page 17 ).
4.
The authorized MSP/reseller installs the server on the new storage expansion unit (" Install the server
on the storage expansion unit " on page 35 ).
5.
The authorized MSP/reseller prepares the server for operation (" Prepare the server for operation
after storage expansion unit installation " on page 36 ).
6.
HPE reconfigures the server with the additional drive capacity.
