Key features and benefits
•
One model with a variety of configuration and cabling options
•
Dynamic adjustment to network traffic characteristics
• Enhanced TCP/IP support with up to 80,000 UDP/TCP connections per adapter
•
Configurable MAC to override auto-negotiation settings (UTP cabling only)
• Application-compatible with previous Ethernet adapters for a smooth migration
•
Support for multiple protocols (TCP/IP, IPX/SPX, Expand/IP, PAM, and SNAX over Ethernet)
A NonStop NB54000c or a NonStop NB56000c system with two c7000 blade enclosures
supports up to six G16SEs per system. For a system with only one c7000 blade enclosure,
you can install up to four G16SEs per system.
If your NonStop system does not have a pair of IP or Telco CLIMs, two 10/100 Ethernet
ports on the first G16SE are needed for system maintenance communications. These ports
can be reconfigured for customer use if a pair of IP or Telco CLIMs is added to the system
later. Subsequent G16SE enclosures in the system have all 16 Ethernet ports available for
application use.
The Cable Management Panel (BL8153) is an important component of the overall G16SE
solution and provides clean and easy access to the Ethernet ports. This provides an elegant
cabling solution and allows for quick reconfigurations.
Flexibility and scalability
The NonStop G16SE product further increases the leadership role of NonStop systems by
offering unique configuration options. It can coexist with IP and Telco CLIMs for a more flexible
environment. The NonStop G16SE installs and operates in conjunction with IP and Telco CLIMs,
thus maintaining your existing investment. 1GbE speeds are available on eight ports, for which
both UTP copper or multimode fiber cabling is supported. As file size and transaction volume
increase, the NonStop G16SE provides the kind of scalability that keeps your system at pace
with the increased capacity.
