Regulatory Information
Wireless communication is often subject to local radio regulations. Although wire-
less networking products have been designed for operation in the license-free 2.4
GHz band, local radio regulations may impose a number of limitations to the use of
wireless communication equipment.
Notice for U.S.A.
This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC rules. Operation is subject to the
following two conditions: 1) this device may not cause harmful interference, and 2)
this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may
cause undesired operation.
This device has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital
device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide
reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This
device generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed
and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to
radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not
occur in a particular installation. If this device does cause harmful interference to
radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the device off and
on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the
following measures:
•
Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
•
Increase the separation between the device and the receiver.
•
Connect the device into an outlet on a circuit different from that to
which the receiver is connected.
•
Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/television technician for
help.
The FCC requires the user to be notified that any changes or modifications made to
the device that are not expressly approved by the Hewlett-Packard Company may
void the user’s authority to operate the device.
Warning: Exposure to Radio Frequency Radiation
The radiated output power of this device is below the FCC radio exposure
limits. Nevertheless, you should use the device such that human contact
during normal operation is minimized. To avoid the possibility of
exceeding the FCC radio frequency exposure limits, human proximity to
the antenna should not be less than 20 cm (8 inches) during normal
operation.
Warning: Radio Antenna Co-location
If your AP 520wl has two AP cards installed, a minimum separation of
20 cm must be maintained between the antennas of the two cards. This
may require the use of an approved external antenna with any 11b or 11g
card.
