Replacing the PIP 145

After the jig is in place, push the sleeves on either side of the jig outward, and lock 
them in place with the latches on the outside walls.

Note

Two persons will be required for this procedure.

To mount the PIP underlayer on the PIP drum:

a

One person should hold the PIP underlayer with the mounting strip facing toward 
him and the transparent protective coating (see white tab) facing up (Figure 
10-18).

b

He should then insert the PIP underlayer mounting strip entirely in the PIP holder 
slit, including the metal retaining strip.

c

A second person should rotate the handwheel counterclockwise until the roll has 
completely wrapped around the drum.

• The roll should pass between the jig and the PIP drum.

• Make sure that the strip is inserted completely along the width of the PIP 

underlayer.

Note

Verify that the PIP underlayer is not skewed and is centered between the PIP drum shoulders.
