Host/Ethernet Cables
WARNING!
•
Each controller node supports one Ethernet connection to a switch or hub. Separate
connections from the Ethernet switch or hub to at least two controller nodes are required to
support redundancy. With redundancy, one IP address is shared between the two
connections, and only one network connection is active at a time. If the active network
connection fails, the IP address is automatically moved to the surviving network connection.
•
At a minimum, the system requires one Fibre Channel (or iSCSI) connection from a host
computer to a controller node. Hewlett Packard Enterprise recommends separate connections
from each host computer to each of the controller nodes in the system, with connections
distributed evenly across all controller nodes.

NOTE:
To provide redundancy and to
permit online software upgrades, both
controller nodes in a controller node pair (for
example, controller nodes 0 and 1 or
controller nodes 2 and 3) must maintain
connections to each host server.
