Prepare the computer for disassembly (

Remove the access panel.(

Remove the front bezel and lay the computer down on its side to make it easier to work on. (

Disconnect the power, and data cables from the back of all installed drives.

Disconnect all cables from the system board.

Remove the heatsink from the system board (
)

Remove the 6 screws that secure the system board to the chassis (1).

Slide the system board towards the front of the chassis (2) then, remove it from the chassis.
NOTE:
The system board in the computer may look slightly different from the one shown
here.
To install the system board, reverse the removal procedure.
NOTE:
After installing a new system board, always update the system ROM to ensure that the
latest version of the BIOS is being used on the computer. The latest system ROM BIOS can be found
on the Web at: http:\\h18000.www1.hp.com/support/files.
