To remove the touchpad, use this procedure and illustration.

The touchpad spare part kit does not include the touchpad bracket, touchpad bracket rubber, or touchpad cable. The touchpad
bracket is available using spare part number L89791-001. The touchpad bracket rubber is available using spare part number
L89786-001. The touchpad cable is included in the Cable Kit, spare part number M44247-001.

Before removing the touchpad, follow these steps:
1.
Prepare the computer for disassembly (
Preparation for disassembly on page 28
).
2.
Remove the top cover/keyboard (
).
Remove the touchpad:
1.
Remove the rubber pad (1) that secures the touchpad cable to the computer.
The rubber pad is available using spare part number L89786-001.
2.
Remove the clear shield (2) that covers the touchpad screws.
3.
Remove the three Phillips M2.0 × 2.2 broad head screws (3) that secure the touchpad to the computer.
4.
Remove the four Phillips M2.0 × 2.8 screws (4) that secure the touchpad bracket and touchpad to the
computer.
5.
Remove the touchpad bracket (5).
The touchpad bracket is available using spare part number L89791-001.
