Focus too far The focus
distance is
beyond where
the camera can
focus.
Make sure the camera is
not set to
Macro focus.
Consider setting the
camera to Infinity focus
if your picture subject is far
in the distance.
Focus too close The focus
distance is closer
than the camera
can focus.
Set the camera to
Macro focus, or if
set to Macro focus,
move further away from
the subject.
Low light - unable
to focus
The scene is too
dark and the
camera cannot
focus.
Add an external light
source, or use Focus Lock
(see page 27) and point at
a part of the scene that is
brighter.
Unable to focus
and blinking The camera is set
to
Macro
focus, but the
subject for the
picture is too far.
Set the camera to Normal
focus, and try taking the
picture again. (See Setting
the focus range on
page 30.)
The subject did
not provide
enough contrast
for the camera to
focus properly.
Use Focus Lock before
taking the picture (see
page 27).
The light is low
and the image is
likely to be
blurry due to the
long exposure
required.
Use the flash (see Setting
the flash on page 33), or
use a tripod.
