Waveguide Electrical
Delay
For phase and group delay measurements, remember that the propagation
constant in waveguide and other non-TEM transmission lines is frequency
dependent. Phase and group delay also exhibit this frequency dependence.
Figure 2-8 illustrates the phase and group delay of a 44 GHz bandpass filter.

Phase and Group Delay
The Waveguide Delay function is used to compensate for the frequency
dependent propagation constant of rectangular waveguide (dispersion). As
illustrated in Figure 2-9, waveguide delay provides a display of deviation
from characteristic phase.
