Before disassembling the computer, follow these steps:
1.
Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3.
Disconnect the power cord.
4.
Remove the battery (see
Battery on page 29
).
Remove the hard drive:
1.
Position the computer with the front toward you.
2.
Loosen the two Phillips PM2.5×6.0 screws
(1)
that secure the hard drive cover to the computer.
3.
Lift the left side of the hard drive cover
(2)
and swing it to right.
4.
Remove the hard drive cover.
NOTE
The hard drive cover is included in the Plastics/Hardware Kit, spare part number
441630-001.
5.
Grasp the Mylar tab
(1)
on the hard drive and pull the hard drive
(2)
to the left to disconnect it from
the system board.
