Before removing the touchpad button board, follow these steps:
1.
Prepare the computer for disassembly (

2.
Remove the optical drive (see
Optical drive (select products only) on page 26
).
3.
Remove the bottom cover (see
4.
Remove the battery (see
).
Remove the touchpad button board:
1.
Disconnect the cable from the ZIF connector on the touchpad button board (1).
2.
Lift the cable to remove it from the adhesive that secures it to the board (2).
3.
Remove the two Phillips M2.0 × 2.0 screws (3) that secure the board to the computer.
4.
Remove the touchpad button board from the computer (4).
TIP:
The top edge of the board sits under clips. Be sure to slide the board out from under the clips to
prevent damage to the board or clips.
Reverse this procedure to install the touchpad button board.
