Turn over the C
-
426/427 than when the die was
loaded (HOZAN logotype may turn properly. The
die may be inserted from its size stamped face.)
Place the C
-
426/427 onto the fork column and de-
pressing it lightly, turn the handles clockwise.
The threads will be corrected.
Turn the C
-
426/427 about 1/4 clockwise, then turn
it about 1/2 counterclockwise to remove chips.
After that, turn back the C
-
426/427 and re
-
start
cutting. Add cutting oil when necessary.

If the finished threads refuse to accept head parts, try again after adjusting the die to
be tighter with the adjust screw of the die. The die will be open when the adjust
screw is turned clockwise, and tighter when the adjust screw is turned counterclock-
wise.

Caution
・
Try to thread with the adjust screw on the die firmly (making the slit of the die
comparatively open) at first. Using the tighter die initially could over
-
thread the
fork column. Refer to
4
below.
・
Carefully apply the C
-
426/427 at right angle to the fork column.
・
Surely lubricate the treads during work.
After the work finished, turn the C
-
426/427 slowly to take it off from the fork. Add
cutting oil when necessary.

File the burrs
Use a Phillips screwdriver, up to 4mm tip.
Turning the die adjust screw clockwise makes the die
open (it cuts the fork mildly) and turning the die adjust
screw counterclockwise makes the die close (it cuts
the fork deep).
