Automatic Defrosting
With the Auto Defrost feature,
the oven automatically sets the
defrosting time and power levels
for you. You choose the appropriate
Code number from 1 to 6 for the food
you are defrosting, then enter the
food weight in pounds and tenths
of a pound (see Conversion Guide
on next page) and press START.
The oven calculates defrosting time
and changes power levels during
defrosting to give even defrosting
results.
How to set Auto Defrost
Before you begin, check the
guide located at bottom of oven
when you open the door. It shows
minimum and maximum Food
Weights for each Code Number.
You will need to know your Food
Weight and corresponding Code
before setting Auto Defrost.
1. Remove food from package,
place in oven on microwave-safe
dish, and close door.
2. Press AUTO DEFROST pad.
“ENTER CODE” flashes on display.
3. Enter selected Code from guide.
For example, poultry calls for Code 1.
“ENTER
flashes. “CODE 1“
appears on display.
4. Enter weight. For example, press
Number Pads 1 and 2 for weight of
1.2 pounds (1 pound, 3 ounces—see
Conversion Guide on next page).
Display shows “1.2” and “START”
flashes.
5. Press START pad. Display shows
TIME” and Defrost Time
counts down.
Note: If
appears on display,
check the Code Guide. Make sure
weight corresponds to Code Number.
Once during defrosting, the oven
beeps 4 times, “turn” flashes 4
times and oven shuts off. “turn”
remains on display and oven beeps
every 6 seconds thereafter until you
open the door, attend your food (see
guide on next page), close the door
and press START.
When defrosting time is completed,
“End” flashes and oven beeps 4
times. “End” remains on display
and oven beeps every minute until
door is opened or CLEAR/OFF
pad is pressed.
When using the Auto Defrost
feature, it is necessary to allow
food to stand in order to finish
defrosting the interior. You may
take the food out of the oven if you
wish. And in some cases, it should
stand in your refrigerator. Stand
time recommendations are given
in the guide on the next page.
