IMPORTANT SAFETY
INSTRUCTIONS
When using electrical appliances, especially when children are present,
basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the
following:

electrically live even when the switch is off.
To reduce the risk of death by electric shock:
1. Always “unplug it” immediately after using.
2. DO NOT use while bathing.
3. DO NOT place or store appliance where it can fall or be pulled into a tub
or sink.
4. DO NOT use near, place in or drop into water or other liquid.
5. If an appliance falls into water, “unplug it” immediately. DO NOT reach
into the water.
6. DO NOT use an appliance with a twisted, bent or otherwise damaged
cord.
WARNING:
To reduce the risk of burns, fire, electrocution, or injury
to persons:
1. An appliance should never be left unattended when plugged in. Turn off
the switch and unplug the electrical cord when not in use.
2. Close supervision is necessary when this appliance is used by, on, or
near children or individuals with certain disabilities.
3. Use this appliance only for its intended use as described in this manual.
DO NOT use attachments not recommended by the manufacturer.
4. Never operate this appliance if it has a damaged cord or plug, if it is
not working properly, or if it has been dropped, damaged, or dropped
into water. Return the appliance to a service center for examination and
repair.
NOTE: Helen of Troy L.P. does not have an authorized service center.
However, if this appliance is still under warranty, return it to the Helen of
Troy Consumer Service Department for replacement.
5. Keep the cord away from heated surfaces. DO NOT pull, twist or wrap
the cord around the appliance.
6. Never use while sleeping.
7. Never drop or insert any object into any opening.
8. DO NOT use outdoors or operate where aerosol (spray) products are
being used or where oxygen is being administered.
9. This curling iron is hot when in use. DO NOT let eyes and bare skin
touch heated surfaces. Use the handle.
10. DO NOT use an extension cord with this appliance.
11. DO NOT place the heated appliance directly on any surface while it is
hot or plugged in. Use the stand provided.
12. Keep the safety stand extended forward while in use.
13. DO NOT operate this appliance with a voltage converter.

USER MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
Maintenance
Your appliance is virtually maintenance-free. No lubrication is needed. Keep
heated surfaces clean and free of dust, dirt, and hair spray. If cleaning
becomes necessary, unplug the appliance from the power source and clean
with a damp cloth. If the cord becomes twisted, untwist prior to use.
WARNING: If any malfunction occurs, do not attempt to repair. This
appliance has no user-serviceable parts.
STORAGE
Unplug appliance when not in use.
Allow appliance to cool and store out of reach of children in a safe, dry
location. Never wrap the cord around the appliance since this will cause the
cord to wear prematurely and break. Handle cord carefully for longer life
and avoid jerking, bending sharply, twisting, or straining cord, especially at
plug connections.

4. NE PAS LE METTRE ou l’ÉCHAPPER dans l’eau ou tout autre liquide ni
l’utiliser à proximité.
5. NE PAS RÉCUPÉRER un appareil tombé dans l’eau. Le débrancher sur-
le-champ.
6. NE PAS UTILISER l’appareil si son cordon est entortillé, plié ou
endommagé de quelque autre façon.
MISE EN GARDE :
Réduction du risque de brûlures, d’électrocution,
d’incendie ou de blessures corporelles :
1. Un appareil branché ne doit jamais être laissé sans surveillance. Mettre
l’interrupteur à la position Arrêt et débrancher l’appareil quand il n’est
pas utilisé.
2. Une surveillance constante est nécessaire lorsque l’appareil est utilisé
par des enfants ou des personnes atteintes de handicap(s), ou en leur
présence.
3. Utiliser cet appareil uniquement pour l’usage décrit dans ce livret. NE
PAS SE SERVIR d’accessoires non recommandés par le fabricant.
4. Ne jamais utiliser cet appareil si le cordon électrique ou la fiche sont
endommagés, s’il ne fonctionne pas adéquatement, s’il a été abîmé ou
s’il a été échappé dans l’eau. Il faut alors retourner l’appareil à un centre
de réparations afin qu’il soit examiné et réparé.
NOTA : Helen of Troy L.P. ne dispose pas d’un service après-vente agréé.
Cependant, si cet appareil est encore sous garantie, le retourner au service
à la clientèle de la société Helen of Troy afin qu’il soit remplacé.
5. Garder le cordon électrique éloigné des surfaces chaudes. ÉVITER de
tirer et de tordre le cordon ou de l’enrouler autour de l’appareil.
6. Ne jamais laisser l’appareil en marche durant le sommeil.
7. Ne jamais échapper ou insérer d’objet dans une ouverture de l’appareil.
8. NE PAS S’EN SERVIR à l’extérieur ni le faire fonctionner dans un lieu
où des aérosols sont vaporisés ou dans un endroit où de l’oxygène est
administré.
9. Cet appareil est brûlant au moment de l’utilisation. ÉVITER que la
peau nue ou les yeux n’entrent en contact avec les surfaces chaudes.
Toujours le tenir par sa poignée.
10. NE PAS UTILISER de rallonge électrique avec cet appareil.
11. NE JAMAIS DÉPOSER l’appareil directement sur une surface lorsqu’il
est chaud ou branché. Utiliser le support inclus.
12. Laisser le support de sécurité déployé vers l’avant lorsque le fer est
utilisé.
13. NE PAS SE SERVIR de cet appareil en conjonction avec un
convertisseur de courant.
INSTRUCTIONS À CONSERVER
MODE D’ENTRETIEN
Entretien
Cet appareil ne requiert pour ainsi dire pas d’entretien. Aucune lubrification
n’est nécessaire. Maintenez les surfaces chaudes propres, exemptes
de poussière, de saleté et de fixatif. Si un nettoyage devient nécessaire,
débranchez l’appareil de la prise de courant et essuyez son extérieur avec
un chiffon humide. Si le cordon électrique s’entortille, redressez-le avant
l’utilisation.
MISE EN GARDE : Si l’appareil venait à mal fonctionner, n’essayez pas de
le réparer, car il ne comporte aucune pièce réparable par l’utilisateur.
RANGEMENT
Débranchez l’appareil après chaque utilisation.
Laissez l’appareil refroidir et rangez-le dans un endroit sûr et sec, hors de
la portée des enfants. N’enroulez jamais le cordon autour de l’appareil, car
cela entraînerait son usure prématurée et sa rupture. Manipulez le
cordon avec précaution pour en prolonger la durée et évitez de le plier
brusquement, de tirer dessus ou de le tordre, en particulier près de la fiche.
