Connection and Setup Procedures
Thank you for purchasing the
TRACKLINK
Microphone to USB Interface by Hosa
Technology. This interface enables you to connect your condenser or dynamic
microphone directly to your computer. To get linked and start tracking, please follow
these instructions carefully:
Connection Procedure
1.
Plug the XLR connector into your microphone
2.
Plug the USB connector into an available USB port on your PC
3.
Follow the setup procedure for your computer below
4.
Turn on 48 V phantom power (condenser microphone only)
5.
Increase gain to taste (dynamic microphone only)
Note: The gain control is intended to compensate for the lower output levels of dynamic
microphones relative to condenser microphones. It should always be set as low as
possible to minimize noise.
Mac OS 10.3.9+ Setup Procedure
1.
Go to Apple Menu>System Preferences and click Sound
2.
Click the “Input” tab
3.
Select “
TRACKLINK
Microphone to USB Interface”
4.
Click the “Output” tab
5.
Select your desired playback option
6.
Close window
Windows XP Setup Procedure
1.
Allow Windows to install the driver before proceeding
2.
Go to Start>Control Panel
3.
In Classic View, open Sounds and Audio Devices
4.
Click the “Audio” tab
5.
Under “Sound recording,” select “
TRACKLINK
Microphone to USB Interface”
6.
Under “Sound playback,” select your desired playback option
7.
Click the “Apply” button
Windows Vista Setup Procedure
1.
Allow Windows to install the driver before proceeding
2.
Go to Start>Control Panel
3.
In Classic View, open Sound
4.
Click the “Recording” tab
5.
Select “
TRACKLINK
Microphone to USB Interface” and click the “Set Default”
button
6.
Click the “Playback” tab
7.
Select your desired playback option and click the “Set Default” button
