Gauge Wheels
During planting the gauge wheels must rest
against the opening disc blades. The position of
the wheels to the discs may be changed, if
required or desired, depending on working and
ground conditions.
•
Remove the retaining bolt of the gauge
wheel (1).
•
Change the assembly sequence of the
shims (2) accordingly.
To move the wheel in remove a shim
from the inside of the wheel and place it
on the outside.
•
Mount the wheel and secure it again with
the previously removed retaining bolt (1).
If the depth guidance wheels require further
adjustment, remove the bolt (3) and change the
sequence of the shims (4) accordingly.
Maintenance
•
Check the gauge wheels daily for
damage, free rotation and tight fit.
•
The inner running face must touch the
discs. Adjust as required.
•
Lubricate both grease zerks of the gauge
wheel arms once weekly.
•
Check the depth setting placement daily.
Closing Wheels
The closing wheels close the seed trench and
press the soil against the seed.
With the adjustment lever the consolidation
effect of the closing wheels can be matched to
the soil conditions and desired planting depth.

•
Slightly lift the machine.
•
Pull the adjustment lever back out of the
locking gate and engage it in the new
position desired.
Moving the lever backwards
increases the consolidation. Set
the spring pretension equally on
all row units.
Check the down pressure and the seed
placement with every change to the closing
wheels. Any change of setting can affect seed
placement.
Maintenance
•
Check the wheels daily for damage and
free rotation.
