Procedure

1.

Use the Keyprox to enter menu option 42.1. Select the user to which the card is to be
assigned. Within the user menu, select option 7=MAX Number.

2.

Delete all the digits of the existing number using the B< button.

3.

Place the keypad in the self-learn mode by holding the A button down and pressing the 1
button simultaneously. The keypad will give a double beep to indicate entry into the self-
learn mode.

4.

Within 5 seconds of the double beep, present the new card at the Keyprox.

5.

The card number will appear on the keypad display, followed by a single beep.

6.

Press ENT to save the card number.

7.

To allow the card to set and unset the system via the Keyprox, option 8=MAX Function
(Card-Held) must be programmed with a setting option (e.g. 12=Timed Set).

8.

To enter more cards, repeat the procedure for other users.

NOTE:

The self-learn mode will time out after 5 seconds if no card is presented.

During the self-learn mode operation, the keypad buttons will not function.

Operation

The Keyprox will behave as two separate modules. The keypad section will function as a
standard Galaxy Keypad, for setting/unsetting, programming and general operation.

The proximity card reader section operates in a similar way to a Galaxy MicroMAX reader.
Swiping a card in front of the read head in the lower right hand corner of the keypad will be
seen as a valid card read by the panel. This can be utilised, if required, by using Links on the
Galaxy Panel. To perform the card-held function assigned to card user, the card must be held in
front of the read head for at least 3 seconds. A long beep will be heard from the keypad buzzer
to indicate that the card is valid. A long beep will be heard 3 seconds later and the card-held
function will be performed.

Dual Focus

Dual Focus means that the PIN and the Card belonging to the same user must be used together
to access the system. This is typically used as a secure method of setting and unsetting the
system. To achieve this, assign a # to the PIN of the user and to the MAX number. Assign an
appropriate MAX function, for example, 12=Timed set. To set the system now, a user would
have to enter their PIN, then hold the card in front of the reader for 3 seconds to begin setting
the system. To unset, simply enter the PIN then briefly swipe the card in front of the reader.
