Mounting the 7845i-GSM
The 7845i-GSM must be mounted
indoors
. To mount the 7845i-GSM, see
Figure 1
and
complete the following steps:
1.
Unpack the 7845i-GSM and detach the case back by pushing up into the two tabs
located at the bottom of the 7845i-GSM module with the blade of a screwdriver while
pulling the case back and case front apart.
2.
Temporarily connect the 7845i-GSM to the AC transformer, supplied.
3.
Choose the installation site with the
best signal strength
by observing the signal
strength (RSSI) bar graph (refer to
Section 6
for information about signal strength and
status indications). Signal strength should be within 3-5 bars. The best signal strength
is usually found at the highest point in the building, near a window. Unplug the
transformer.

Locate the case back over the mounting surface such that the opening in the case back
is aligned with the wire/cable access opening (in the mounting surface) while passing
the wires/cable through the opening in the case back, or through the removable
knockouts located on the bottom of the back cover.
5.
Secure the case back to the mounting surface using four screws (supplied).
6.
When all wiring is completed, attach the case front of the 7845i-GSM to the case back.
Attach the top first then press the bottom section inward until it snaps into place
securely.
