STARTING ENGINE
Place machine on a level surface free of obstacles, and be sure the
cutting head is not in contact with ground or any materials.
1.
‘Engine switch’
to
‘on’
.
2. Squeeze
‘throttle trigger’
and press in
‘idle-up knob’
. Release
throttle whilst holding knob in, to set starting fast tick-over.
3. Squeeze the plastic
‘priming pump’
bowl until fuel is seen in
transparent
‘fuel return tube’
.
4.
The choke
is only needed if the engine is very cold (it normally
starts on 2
nd
/ 3
rd
pull without use of choke). The open choke
(normal) position is down.
5.
Gently
pull starter. The engine will normally start on the 2
nd
or
3
rd
pull.
6.
DO NOT ALLOW
starter grip to snap back as damage can
result. Return it gently.
7. As soon as engine running, touch the
‘throttle trigger’
to
release
‘fast idle-knob’
. The engine then runs at normal tick-
over and machine is ready for use.
STOPPING ENGINE
Slide
‘engine switch’
up to
off
and machine will stop.
REFUELLING- NEAT UNLEADED PETROL
Do not smoke and only undertake in open air.
Be very careful not to spill fuel over the engine whilst refuelling.
CRANKCASE OIL
Check after every 10 hours use.
The machine must be on a level surface for checking.
Total oil capacity 0.1L
Grade 10W-40 or 20W-40
SAFE OPERATION
Adjust the carrying harness so that the quick release latch is
positioned at your right hip. Hook the trimmer to the carrying harness.
Adjust the harness so the cutting position is as shown below.
Hold the trimmer firmly with both hands during operation so as to
keep control.
Keep cutting attachment below knee height at all times.
Apply throttle and operate trimmer using your waist to swing in a level
arc from
right to left
.
Do not operate on a steep or slippery slope.
If the cutter becomes entangled, switch engine off, release from
harness & move to a clear area before removing trash from cutter.
Wear gloves if blade is fitted.
During use keep a continual lookout for people approaching
your work area, and for any obstacles buried in undergrowth.
