Engine Oil & Filter
Servicing Your Honda
Improper disposal of drained f luids is harmf ul to the environment.
Add Engine Oil:
Reinstall the oil filter cover, making sure the bolts are tightened to the
specified torque:
Pour the drained oil into a suitable container and dispose of it in an
approved manner (page
).
Fill the oil tank with the recommended grade oil approximately:
After the oil has drained, make sure the sealing washers on the drain
bolts are in good condition. If necessary, replace the sealing washers.
Reinstall the oil filler cap/dipstick.
Reinstall the engine guard.
Reinstall the oil filler cap/dipstick.
Check for oil leaks.
If a torque wrench is not used for installation, see your Honda dealer as
soon as possible to verify proper assembly.
Start the engine and let it idle for 3
5 minutes.
Stop the engine and after 2
3 minutes, check the oil level. Make
sure the oil is between the UPPER and LOWER level marks on the oil
filler cap/dipstick. If necessary, add more oil but do not overfill.
Reinstall the drain bolts and tighten to the specified torque:
