ABS MODULATOR
REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
Drain the brake fluid from the front and rear hydrau-
lic systems (page 17-7).
Remove the following:
– front lower cover (page 3-12)
– front inner cover (page 3-10)
Disconnect the ABS modulator 25P connector (pull
the lock lever up to disconnect it).
When loosening
the joint nuts, cover
the end of the
brake pipes to pre-
vent contamination.
Loosen the joint nuts and disconnect the five brake
pipes.
Remove the three mounting bolts and ABS modula-
tor assembly (so the assembly does not interfere
with the brake pipes).
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
• Apply brake fluid to the brake pipe joint nut threads.
Be careful not to
bend or damage
the brake pipes dur-
ing ABS modulator
assembly removal.
TORQUE: Brake pipe joint nut
14 N·m (1.4 kgf·m, 10 lbf·ft)
