CYLINDER HEAD/VALVES

VALVE GUIDE I.D.

Ream the valve guide [1] to remove any carbon

deposits before measuring.

Turn the special tool (Valve guide reamer) clockwise,

never counterclockwise.
Continue to rotate the special tool while removing it

from the valve guide.

Measure and record each valve guide I.D.

If the measured valve guide I.D. is more than the

service limit, replace the valve guide (page 13-8).

VALVE FACE

Inspect each valve for face irregularities.
If necessary, replace the valve (page 13-4).
