SERVICING YOUR GENERATOR

SEDIMENT CUP CLEANING

The sediment cup prevents dirt or water that may be in the fuel tank from
entering the carburetor. If the engine has not been run for a long time, the
sediment cup should be cleaned.

1. Turn the engine switch to the OFF position.

2. Turn the fuel valve lever to the OFF

position; then remove the sediment
cup and the O-ring. Discard the O-
ring.

3. Clean the sediment cup in

nonflammable solvent, and dry it
thoroughly.

4. Install the sediment cup and a new

O-ring, and tighten the sediment
cup securely.

5. Turn the fuel valve lever to the ON

position and check for leaks.

Gasoline is highly flammable and
explosive.

You can be burned or seriously injured
when handling fuel.

• Stop the engine and let it cool before

handling fuel.

• Keep heat, sparks, and flame away.
• Handle fuel only outdoors.
• Keep away from your vehicle.
• Wipe up spills immediately.
