3.Check the air filter.
Check the air filter element to be sure it is clean and in good condition.
Unsnap the two air cleaner cover clips, remove the air cleaner cover, and
remove the air cleaner element.
Clean or replace the element if necessary (see page 23).
CAUTION: Never run the engine without the air filter element.
Rapid engine wear will result from contaminants, such as dust and dirt,
being drawn through the carburetor, into the engine.
