JASO T 903 standard
The JASO T 903 standard is an index for
engine oils for 4-stroke motorcycle
engines.
There are two classes: MA and MB.
Oil conforming to the standard is labeled
on the oil container. For example, the
following label shows the MA
classification. Use only MA classification engine oil for
your motorcycle. Using engine oil other
than MA classification oil could result in
damage to the assist-slipper clutch system.
The assist-slipper clutch system helps to
prevent the rear tire from locking up when
the deceleration of your motorcycle
produces a strong engine braking effect. It
also makes the clutch lever operation feel
lighter.
