several feet below the TV behind additional audio/video components. The two (2) Flexible Opening Cable Wall Plate units are identical and are not
top/bottom specific. They have also been designed with low voltage mounting brackets molded into the back of the Wall Plate
(see Figure 1 below)
.
Use the Flexible Opening Cable Wall Plate units to install your low voltage cables (HDMI & Coax included) inside the wall, behind your flat panel TV (or
other display device) to audio/video devices located below the TV
(see Figure 2)
.
The Flexible Opening Cable Wall Plates are designed for use with low voltage and data cables
ONLY
. Read and understand all instructions before
attempting install. Follow all warning and instructions marked on the product.
Installation Instructions:
1. Determine the desired location for the top Flexible Opening Cable Wall Plate unit behind your flat panel TV or other display device.
2. Determine the desired location for the bottom Flexible Opening Cable Wall Plate unit behind your audio/video components.
Note:
while you are
choosing the locations for the top and bottom Wall Plate units, keep in mind that they must be vertically in line with one another for the installation to
work properly (
see Figure 2)
.
3. Use a stud finder to locate the vertical studs behind the drywall. Make sure that your desired locations for the Flexible Opening Cable Wall Plate units
have a minimum of 1/2’’ (0.5 inch) clearance from studs.
4. After you have confirmed the locations for the top and bottom Flexible Opening Cable Wall Plates, cut out the templates attached to this instruction
sheet. The two templates included are identical, you do not have to use both. Place the template on the wall in the desired location of the top Wall
Plate unit. Trace around the template with a pencil to mark the location (you may want to use a level to ensure your markings are straight). Repeat this
process for the bottom Wall Plate unit. Make sure that the top and bottom Wall Plate units are vertically in line with one another.
5. Using the Drywall Saw or Utility Knife, cut a hole in the wall where you have traced for both the top and the bottom Wall Plate units.
6. Pull the HDMI Cord, the RG-6 Quad Shield Coaxial Cable and up to four (4) additional audio/video cables through the wall. Then pull the connectors
of the audio/video cords through the opening of the Flexible Opening Cable Wall Plate units
(see Figure 3).
7. One at a time, insert the Flexible Opening Cable Wall Plate units (with audio video cables already inserted) into the holes you have cut in the wall.
Gently press down on the Wall Plate until it is flush with the wall and use the screw driver to screw the wings into place. The wings will fasten tightly
against the back of the drywall
(see Figure 1)
.
8. Now that the wall installation has been completed, it is time to connect your audio/video cables to your devices. Plug the top connector of the HDMI
Cord into an HDMI input on your TV; plug the bottom connector of the HDMI Cord into your cable/satellite receiver, blue ray player, or other HDMI
compatible device.
9. Connect the top connector of the RG-6 Quad Shield Coaxial Cable by screwing the end into the “F” type connector on your TV; connect the bottom
connector of the Coaxial Cable by screwing the end into the “F” type connector located on your cable/satellite receiver or other device for
cable/antenna signal. Continue this process for any additional audio/video devices that were installed into the Flexible Opening Cable Wall Plate.
