Completion of Multiple Racks
When processing of a rack is completed, the system drops the completed rack in the UNLOAD
station, beeps 5 times and prompts the user to remove the rack. Only after the user confirms that the
rack is removed by pressing ENTER, will the system place another rack in the UNLOAD station.
While a completed rack is waiting to be removed, the system will continue to process other racks (if
they are already running) until it can no longer move a rack to its desired destination. At that point,
all running racks will experience longer station times until the completed rack removal is
acknowledged by the user.
When the user presses the ENTER key after removing all the racks, the transport mechanism is re-
initialized and the Standby Screen is displayed.
Completion of Multiple Racks When Running the ThinPrep Stain Protocol
The system will remove racks when completed as explained previously but while a completed rack is
waiting to be removed, the system will continue to process other racks (if they are already running)
and place subsequent racks
in the last available “non-critical” station
until it can no longer move a
rack to its desired destination.
