8.1 Basic rules
Proper and regular cleaning will ensure safe operation and extend the life span of the
appliance.
Warning! Before performing cleaning and maintenance operations,
turn the appliance off, disconnect it from the power source and let it
cool down, so as to avoid burns and electric shock.
ATTENTION!
Do not clean the appliance with any strong chemicals, alkali, abrasive or disinfecting
agents, as they may damage the surface of the appliance.
Do not use metal, sharp or rough cleaning accessories, as they may damage the
surface of the appliance!
Do not pour any liquids other than water into the water container. Do not add
anything to water.
Do not immerse the appliance or its power cord in water or other liquids.
Before you use the appliance again, make sure it is completely dry.
To extend the lifespan of the appliance and make sure that it remains in good
working order, it is recommended that parts that come into contact with food be
washed after every use.
Cleaning the appliance
1. Disconnect the appliance from the power source.
2. Regularly wipe the appliance housing with a damp cloth.
Cleaning accessories
Attention! Washing appliance parts in a dishwasher is not recommended.
1. Wash the dripping tray, the dripping grill, the 2-in-1 scoop, the portafilter and the
filter basket under running water with some mild detergent. Rinse the components
thoroughly and leave until dry.
Cleaning the filter basket and the portafilter
1. Remove the portafilter from the appliance.
2. Lift and hold the filter basket lock.
3. Tap the filter basket to remove coffee grounds.
4. Lower the filter basket lock.
5. Remove the filter basket from the portafilter.
