The next sub-menu of the

ETTINGS
S
CREEN
is
S
CREEN
F
N
S
CREEN
, which
is illustrated in Figure 35.
The idea here is that on the
H
OME
S
CREENS
(SSB, CW, and PSK), there
are ten programmable on-screen but-
tons. These buttons can be pro-
grammed to perform specific func-
tions. There are 4 buttons on the
SSB
H
OME
S
CREEN
(either USB or
LSB), 4 buttons on the CW
H
OME
S
CREEN
(either CW or CWR), and 2
buttons on the PSK
H
OME
S
CREEN
(either PSK-U or PSK-L). These ten
buttons are configured on the
S
CREEN
F
UNCTIONS
S
CREEN
.
If the factory default operation of
these buttons does not suit your
method of operation, you may edit
the label on the button as well as the
function that it performs.
You change the function invoked by
one of these buttons by programming
in one or more macros on this screen.
We have already seen a couple of
the macro tags earlier, when we were
discussing the programming of the
keyboard function keys. The com-
plete list of available macros can be
found in the Appendix.
The buttons on the
S
CREEN
F
UNCTIONS
S
CREEN
are arranged in three columns, one for the but-
tons on the SSB
H
OME
S
CREEN
, one for the buttons on the CW
H
OME
S
CREEN
and one for but-
tons on the PSK
H
OME
S
CREEN
.
