CONTROLS
CLASSIC COMPACT ACTIVE CABINETS feature an
integrated preamp and power amp. These active speaker
systems are designed for all-purpose use such as small
PA, instrument amplification, or monitor systems, and are
the ideal mobile sound system for schools, conferences
and similar applications.
The models feature two independent channels (LINE and
MIC), to which you can connect one microphone and
one additional signal source (e.g. keyboard, tape deck),
and can adjust the levels of the two signals to achieve the
desired balance between them.
THE PREAMP SECTION:
The LINE channel is equipped with two jacks connected
in parallel (LINE INPUT + PARALLEL OUT). The signal
sent to the LINE INPUT jack is routed to the PARALLEL
OUT jack, enabling you to feed this signal to another
amp and connect additional active cabinets.
The MIC channel is, as its label implies, designed
especially for microphones. Adjust levels for the MIC and
LINE channels via their respective VOLUME controls.
VOLUME:
This control determines the output level. At times,
depending on the incoming signal’s level, the signal may
start to clip, causing audible distortion. In this case,
simply turn the VOLUME down until the distortion is no
longer audible.
BASS/TREBLE:
Use these controls to dial in the desired amounts of low
end and high end.
CAUTION: High levels of treble will sooner or later
generate feedback. This high-pitched whine is not only
extremely annoying, it can also destroy the tweeters! If
you do run into feedback problems, immediately turn the
MIC channel’s VOLUME and/or the TREBLE control
down.
In order to avoid potential feedback, situate the speaker
cabinets so they do not face the microphones. Quality
microphones with narrow pickup patterns such as
cardioid mics also drastically reduce the risk of feedback.
