2.8.1 State transition of the RAID
Table 2-6 lists RAID statuses and their respective descriptions. Figure 2-3 shows the state
transitions.

Normal -
Redundant data is intact, and the RAID is operating normally.
Degraded

One drive failed, and a part of redundant data is corrupted.
Rebuild
The RAID is being rebuilt due to drive replacement or other reason.
Fail

Both drives failed, or drives are not connected.
Unknown -
Getting the RAID status failed, or the array configuration is not normal.
