Hitachi AMS 2000 Family Storage System Service Guide
Navigator 2 cannot connect to an array
provides a series of troubleshooting steps to follow if Navigator
2 runs but cannot connect to an array.

Turn on the Power
switch and wait for
the Ready LED to
come on.

Navigator 2 does not
connect to any array. The

Check the Power LED on the
array and make sure that
the array is turned on.
Turn on the Power switch and
verify that the Power LED is ON.
Wait at least four minutes and
check the Ready LED. (1)
Recheck the power on/off
operation. Turn the Power switch
OFF and check the Power LED. (2)

between the
management console and
the array. Check for a
communications failure
between Navigator 2 and
the array. See Table 8.1

distribution buses are

Notes:
(1) The Ready LED normally lights about four minutes after the power is turned on but can take as long as 20
minutes depending on the array status. If the Ready LED does not light within 20 minutes, check the Power LED
and verify that it is ON. If it is not ON, check the power cables and the power to the rack.
(2) If the Power LED stays on when the Power switch is turned OFF, the array may not have powered off correctly.
Turn the power on and back off again, then recheck the Power LED.
