Introducing the Hitachi High-performance NAS Platform
The High-performance NAS Platform chassis is 4U (7 inches) high, 480 millimeters (19
inches) wide, rack mountable, and a maximum of 600 millimeters (22 inches) deep
excluding the fascia. The High-performance NAS Platform chassis consists of:
• A passive backplane (which is not removable)
• A NIM module (Network Interface Module)
• A FSA or FSX module (File System Module)
• A FSB module (File System Module)
• A SIM module (System Interface Module)
• Three hot-swappable fan assemblies
• Dual power supplies
The pre-installed modules perform functions essential to the integrity of the High-
performance NAS Platform. If there is an issue with a module, replace it with the same

The following tables show which modules are compatible with which models of High-
performance NAS Platform:
Note:
If an FSA module is used in a series 3000 High-performance NAS Platform, it
must be either an FSA2024-1 or an FSA2024-2.
