2.8 System configuration via the Web-based

Enter the parameters according to the selected mode on the right.

You enter the system name applicable to the DHCP protocol in the
Sy
stem
dialog of the Web-based Interfaces, in the “Name” line.

In the “Local” frame assign
– an IP address,
– a Netmask and
– a Gateway Address
to the Switch.

With the “VLAN ID” frame you can assign a VLAN to the Switch. If you enter
the illegal VLAN ID “0” here, the agent can be accessed by all VLANs.

The HiDiscovery protocol (see “Entering the IP parameters via HiDiscov-
ery” on page 35 ) allows you to assign an IP address to the Switch on the
basis of its MAC address. Activate the HiDiscovery protocol if you want to
assign an IP address to the Switch from your PC with the HiDiscovery
software delivered (setting on delivery: active).
Note: Save the settings you have made to ensure they are still available after
restart (see “Loading/saving settings” on page 51 ).
