HIP-10RV Field Adjustable Relief Valve Maintenance Instructions:
Disassembly Instructions:
1.
Secure the assembly vertically in a soft –jawed vise with the handle at the top.
2.
Loosen the nut.
3.
Loosen the handle to relieve the spring compression. Loosen seat gland.
4.
Carefully remove gland.
5.
Remove the assembly from the vise and carefully invert to remove the internal parts:
spring seat, spring, gland, 3/8-16 hex nut, and the handle.
6.
Remove set gland.
7.
From the top (spring housing area). Push the stem out of the assembly.
8.
Remove the nylon seat, cage, spring, washer, o-ring, packing, and washer.
Assembly Instructions:
1.
Replace worn or damaged items as required.
2.
Reassemble the nylon set, cage, spring, washer, o-ring, packing, and washer in reverse
order of removal.
3.
Loosely assemble seat gland to finger tight.
4.
Assemble stem into the packing area from the top.
5.
Tighten seat gland.
6.
Assemble the spring and spring seat.
7.
Assemble the gland.
8.
Assemble the handle.
9.
Adjust the handle to set pressure. Counterclockwise to decrease the set pressure.
Recommended adjustment is one full turn maximum at a time. Depressurize the valve
before making adjustments.
10.
Tighten the nut.
