Fasten the main idle gear shaft mounting bolt to secure the main
idle gear on the cylinder block.
Tightening Torque:
172 N·m {1,754 kgf·cm, 127 lbf·ft}

INSPECTING EACH IDLE GEAR

Use the thickness gauge to measure the thrust play of each idle
gear and use dial gauge to measure the backlash of each idle
gear. Check that measurement values are within the standard
value.

MOUNTING THE CAM IDLE GEAR

After applying engine oil to the thrust plate, cam idle gear bush,
idle gear shaft and the seating surface and bolt threads of the idle
gear shaft, orient an oil hole in the idle gear shaft to the downward
direction and assemble them as shown in the figure.
