1. Plug the mains adapter into a suitable power
outlet.
2. Connect the mains adapter to the charging con-
nector on the PRA 811 battery holder.
3. End the charging operation after approx. 9 hours
by disconnecting the mains adapter from the PRA
811 battery holder.
4. Disconnect the supply cord plug from the power
outlet.
NOTE
The safety instructions for the charger can
be found in the separate operating instructions.

The PRA 811 battery holder is not connected to the
rechargeable PRA 810 battery.

The protective cut-out has been activated. The PR
28 may be used when in this status.
7. Operation
7.1 Switching the tool on
Press the ON / OFF button.
NOTE
After switching on, the tool begins the automatic level-
ing procedure (the auto leveling indicator blinks). The
laser head begins to rotate and the beam is emitted as
soon as the automatic leveling procedure is complete
(the auto leveling indicator lights constantly).
7.2 Selecting the speed of rotation

The speed of rotation can be changed by pressing the
rotation speed button, the arrow buttons and then the
SET button.
1. Press the rotation speed button once to activate
speed setting mode.
2. Press the arrow buttons to change the speed
(300, 600 or 900 revolutions per minute).
3. Press the SET button to save the setting.
NOTE
The values shown in the display (3,6,9)
indicate the speed of rotation (x 100).
7.3 Working in the horizontal plane
NOTE
The laser switches on and the beam begins to rotate
as soon as the tool has leveled itself.
1. Set up the tool in a suitable position for the
application, e.g. on a tripod.
2. Press the ON / OFF button.
7.4 Working in manual mode
In manual mode, the laser beam is not switched off
automatically by any kind of interference (vibration,
impact etc.). Automatic leveling mode can be reactiv-
ated by pressing the shock warning button once.
1. To activate manual mode, press the shock warn-
ing button twice in quick succession.
NOTE
The manual mode indicator LED lights.
The tool can then be positioned and inclined as
desired.
7.5 Setting the angle of inclination

If the laser is used with a preset angle of inclination,
it must be set up correctly in order to ensure that
the laser plane lies parallel to the desired plane of
inclination.
NOTE
The direction-finding mark on the tool is calibrated
to the laser beam’s axis of inclination. Follow the
instructions below to adjust the laser to the desired
direction of inclination.
1. Mark a line that lies parallel to the desired direction
of inclination.
2. Set up the laser on this line. Use a plumb line to
do this: Allow the plumb line to hang from the
fastening screw on the tripod.
