The Rocket EJ6172 can be installed into free PCI-‐E slots, and mounted into a chassis like a standard,
full-‐height add-‐on card.
Rocket EJ6172 Installation Overview
Step 1:
Gently insert the EJ6172 Device Board into a free PCI-‐E slot and secure the EJ6172 into the
PCI-‐e slot with a screw.
Cable Connections to EJ6172
1) Power Connector –The 4 pin power connector powers the EJ6172
2) Fans – Up to three fans are supported with 4 pin fan connectors
3) SFF-‐8087 – Six SFF-‐8087 connectors connect to chassis backplanes. Each SFF-‐8087 connector
support up to 4 hard disk drives.
4) Install all of the hard drives and connect SFF-‐8087 cables to the chassis backplane
Step 2:
After installing the RocketRAID 2711 + EJ6172, restart your computer.
