Replacing HPE Synergy D3940 Storage Module Enclosure
Powering down the HPE Synergy D3940 Storage Module
To disable the power LED, you must power down all the assigned compute modules or delete the assigned server profiles.
Actions within HPE OneView allow you to power down the HPE Synergy D3940 Storage Module.
Removing the HPE Synergy D3940 Storage Module
WARNING: To reduce the risk of personal injury from hot surfaces, allow the drives and the internal system components
to cool before touching them.
CAUTION: To prevent damage to electrical components, properly ground the D3940 Storage Module before beginning
any installation procedure. Improper grounding can cause ESD.
Procedure
1. Power down the storage module.
2. Identify the proper storage module.
drawer power LED on the front of the storage module is off.
3. Label the drive bay locations for each drive.
4. Remove all the drives.
IMPORTANT: The replacement storage module must not contain drives.
5. Press the storage module handle release latch, and then pull out the storage module with the storage module handle.
6. Place the storage module on a flat, level work surface.
7. Access HPE OneView and accept the HPE Synergy D3940 Storage Module.
IMPORTANT: HPE OneView remembers missing drive enclosures that contain one or more logical JBODs. To clear
this condition, delete all the server profiles that use the missing drive enclosure.
